Formed in 2015, SLAM are producing world-class drama and comedy for the international market.
SLAM’s first commission was Joe Penhall’s screen adaptation of BIRTHDAY, directed by Roger Michell and transmitted to great success on SKY ARTS in June this year.
In 2015, SLAM also wrapped producing first-time writer Roger Hadfield’s AWAY, a feature film starring Timothy Spall and Juno Temple, directed by David Blair.
The company was born out of the long-standing friendship between the British actors Stephen Mangan, Andrew Lincoln and Louise Delamere (Producer of BIRTHDAY/AWAY).
They have a desire to develop strong writing and collaborative projects and see the writer at the centre of the creative process.
They have recently been joined by British director and co-founder of Digital Theatre and Digital Theatre Plus, Robert Delamere and Robin Davies, formerly of Free Range Films and Number 9 films. The team also includes Sandy Mahal, who recently chaired FutureBook and will act as SLAM’s Literary Consultant.
Their early slate of projects attracted the interest and support of leading international development companies and they have recently signed a major development deal with Fremantle Media.
